Before they officially split, there were rumors of Jen and Ben having marital woes. The hearsay was proven accurate as Jennifer listed their date of separation as April 26. Irreconcilable differences were stated as the reason why Jennifer and Ben called it quits.
The Grammy-nominated songstress and Air actor lived different lifestyles. Jennifer preferred to live life in the public eye, flaunting around in front of the cameras. Meanwhile, Ben rather stay lowkey and live privately.
Their incompatibility is ultimately what led to the downfall of their marriage. "It was more and more apparent they weren’t a good match," an insider divulged to Us Weekly. Although Ben and Jen went to therapy, trying to “make it work” it still wasn't enough.
"It boiled down to [the fact that] they are two different people,” the insider explained to Us Weekly. The source divulged that the divorcing couple agreed to separate after realizing they were not in agreement with each other. "[Jennifer] came to the realization things weren’t going to change and they were incompatible," the source confessed.
