Beloit Shop With a Hero a joy for shoppers and heroes

Area children were treated to a shopping spree Saturday during the Shop with a Hero event at the Beloit Walmart. Local police, firefighters and National Guard members volunteered to help children shop for gifts.

BELOIT — Mariah Weber and her children looked both tired and excited on Saturday morning as they waited their turn to Shop With a Hero at Walmart, 2785 Milwaukee Road. Weber is a certified nursing assistant at Beloit Memorial Hospital. She finished a 12-hour shift at 7 a.
