Beloit Memorial girls basketball opens season with win over Janesville Parker

BELOIT — The energetic atmosphere surrounding opening night seemed to rub off on the Beloit Memorial girls basketball team’s play on the court against former Big Eight rival Janesville Parker on Tuesday. From the fast-paced style of defense that the Knights inflicted that forced turnover after turnover to the way Beloit players lunged on loose balls and how a brief cold shooting spell did nothing to discourage another try, it was put on display just how excited the squad was to be back on the court.
