Ashley Ridge and Summerville landed a player on the 2024 Class 5A All-State Volleyball Team. Ashley Ridge senior Reece Bellush received all-state honors and was named the Region 8-AAAAA Girls Volleyball Player of the Year. The setter is a four-time varsity letterman for the Swamp Foxes who last week signed to play for the Wingate University Women’s Volleyball program.
During her high-school career, she made 1,366 assists to set a new school record and had 140 aces, 446 digs, 259 kills and 35 blocks. Summerville outside hitter Lilyanna Parker is also one of only 22 athletes named to the all-state team. The outside hitter is a five-time varsity letterman for the Green Wave who last week signed to play for the Stetson University Women’s Volleyball program.
During her senior season, she had more than 40 aces, 225 kills and 155 digs. She too received all-region honors. Others named to the 8-AAAAA Girls Volleyball All-Region Team include Summerville seniors Drew Page and Deorri Gaines, Ashley Ridge senior Alana Braxton and junior Trinity Medford and Fort Dorchester senior Braeden Kessler and junior Annamarie Picciano.
Lucy Beckham’s Jolie Trudeau and Wando’s Addison Krieger were the only other Charleston Lowcountry athletes selected for the 5A Girls Volleyball All-State Team..
