State police charged a Belle Vernon woman Wednesday in connection with the theft of items from a home in West Brownsville. Angel Lynn Carey, 32, faces a felony charge of burglary, and misdemeanors of theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief, tampering with evidence and making false reports. According to the criminal complaint, the victim reported to police May 14 that his home in the 300 block of Washington Avenue had been burglarized.

Police did not identify the victim. Missing from the home were a 55-inch television, a soundbar and shoes. Three of his vehicle’s tires had also been slashed.



Multiple witnesses told police that Carey had stolen the items, according to the criminal complaint. Court documents state she told a state trooper that she gave the items to another person. The stolen property was returned Aug.

22. Carey was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge James Saieva, who sent her to the Washington County jail on $30,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:45 a.
