Belize Defense Force joins multinational mission to restore security in Haiti

Two senior BDF officers have been deployed to Haiti as part of a multinational task force tasked with restoring security and paving the way for free and fair elections in the troubled Caribbean nation. This deployment is in direct response to the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2699, which calls for international cooperation to address the ongoing crisis in Haiti. The BDF officers will work alongside their counterparts from the Jamaican Defence Force, initially integrating with the Headquarters Staff in Jamaica before proceeding to Haiti to take on critical operational planning roles.



This mission highlights Belize’s unwavering dedication to supporting international security efforts and its solidarity with CARICOM partners and allies in the region.
