New Delhi: Bollywood actor Vijay Varma’s IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack premiered to positive reviews on Thursday (August 30, 2024). The highly-anticipated crime thriller is captivating audiences with its gripping storyline and powerful performances by the lead cast. The OTT series is based on the real-life hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814, which was en route from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu to Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi when it was hijacked on December 24, 1999.
The hijackers demanded the release of terrorists imprisoned in India. The web series also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Arvind Swamy, Dia Mirza and Amrita Puri in key roles. Renowned filmmaker Anubhav Sinha directs it.

It marks Vidyut’s debut as a producer.
