Dennis Bryon has sadly died at the age of 76 . The musician, who played with the Bee Gees between 1973 to 1981, died at his home in Nashville on Thursday, November 14. Musician Blue Weaver, who played with Dennis in the Welsh Rock group Amen Corner, announced his death on Facebook .
He wrote, "I am lost for words at the moment...
Dennis has passed away. Kayte, Dennis’s wife has just called me and asked if I would let all friends and fans know. This was such a shock.
Dennis has been my friend, since we were in our first band together age 15. His great drumming will always Stay Alive." Dennis' death marks the second Bee Gees drummer to have died in the past month .
On Tuesday, the Best of Bee Gees announced Colin 'Smiley' Petersen had also died . He enriched our lives and bound our group with love, care and respect," it continued, "Not sure how we can go on without his glowing smile and deep friendship.
We love you Col. Rest in Peace." Tributes have been pouring in for Dennis on social media.
One person posted on X, "The world has lost two iconic drummers in one week. Dennis Bryon drummer for the 70s Bee Gees and Colin Peterson, official member and drummer of the 60s Bee Gees. R.
I.P. gentleman.
Hope Robin and Maurice were there to greet you." Another said, "Some very sad news today for Bee Gees fans. The beloved drummer Dennis Bryon has passed away suddenly.
Much love and condolences to his wife and family. He will forever be a part of the Bee Gees." A third fan added, "Sad to learn of the passing of Dennis Bryon, THE drummer for the @BeeGees during the iconic years of the 70s.
Dennis played on one of the first drum loops ever produced where Albhy Galuten & Karl Richardson took his drum track for "Night Fever" & created the drum loop for "Stayin' Alive"! #AT40." Dennis played drums for the Bee Gees on a number of their hits including Stayin' Alive And Night Fever. Dennis first performed with psychedelic band Amen Corner before joining the Bee Gees.
