Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Oct 6: Bee Enn Charitable Hospital marked the completion of its internship program for psychology students by hosting a contact program today. The event saw the distribution of certificates to the students and provided them with vital career guidance to help shape their future in the field of psychology and mental health. Addressing the gathering, Director Bee Enn Care, Dr Chand Trehan, who also leads the internship initiative, emphasized the Hospital’s mission to develop top-tier counsellors and mental health professionals.

Dr Trehan also conducted multiple sessions during the program, offering practical tips for a successful career in the mental health sector. “Our objective is to build a skilled workforce that can address the growing demand for qualified mental health practitioners,” she said. Dr Abhishek Chauhan, the chief guest and a renowned psychiatrist, spoke about the increasing importance of mental health awareness.



He emphasized that while most mental health problems are not severe, early intervention and counselling are crucial in preventing their escalation. “We need more skilled professionals to address these challenges, and society must become more aware of the importance of mental health,” he said. Prof Sarika Manhas, Head of the Home Science Department at Jammu University, stressed the importance of recognizing qualified counsellors and promoting their services.

Dr Sandeep Gupta, Assistant Director IGNOU Jammu, highlighted the career opportunities in the mental health field and outlined future prospects for psychology students. He also informed the participants about upcoming IGNOU programs that offer value addition for aspiring professionals in the field. Trustee, Bee Enn Charitable Trust, Kunil Bhalla, urged the students to continue working hard, highlighting the charitable work done by the trust to uplift underprivileged sections of society, particularly in rural areas.
