THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, barely days before ending his tenure, remarked highly of Kerala saying that the state would hold a special place in his heart. He was speaking to the media before stepping down from the post of Governor of Kerala. Khan also clarified the government's decision to not hold an official farewell party.
In his final briefing with the media as Kerala Governor, Khan conversed in Malayalam. ARIF KHAN: “Governor's term has expired. But my relationship with Kerala will be lifelong.
I am leaving the state with tons of sweet memories. I will remember every one of you and I wish best of luck for the state. My love for Kerala will never end.
This place will have a special place in my heart. Big thanks for all your support. The last five years here were not at all difficult.
I did my duty and hope that the government will serve for the betterment of people. The whole of India is mourning the passing away of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. So it is not an ideal time for a farewell function.
If not for the little differences in university-related issues, I had a great time working with the state government.”.
