Bears press on in NFL Draft, pick Missouri WR Luther Burden III in 2nd round at No. 39 overall

The Bears made another major addition in the NFL Draft by taking Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden III in the second round Friday with the No. 39 overall pick. Burden, 6-foot, 206 pounds, caught 61 passes for 676 yards and six touchdowns last season.

In 2023, he put up 1,212 yards and nine touchdowns on 86 catches. The pick the Bears used on Burden is the last piece from their 2023 trade with the Panthers. The Bears traded down from No.



1 to No. 9 in that deal, allowing the Panthers to take quarterback Bryce Young, but also got the 2024 No. 1 overall pick they used to take quarterback Caleb Williams.

The Bears used their first-round pick to draft Michigan tight end Colston Loveland at No. 10 overall . They have another pick coming up in the second round at No.
