The Repair Shop 's Dominic Chinea has addressed the possibility of joining Strictly Come Dancing . The craftsman confided that he "wouldn't say no" if he were approached, although confessed he may need to put in a fair bit of work to get up to speed. Speaking to the Sunday People last year, he reveal: "The costumes, the sets and the style would be great – but the dancing might be the weak point!" Nevertheless, he expressed enthusiasm about joining the show, asserting, "I wouldn't say no if they asked me!".
But it's not just the lure of the dance floor that Dominic eyed up after admitting he would also be open to hosting his own festive TV show. Dominic, who lives in Kent with his wife Maria and their Spanish Water Dog Wendy, told the publication: "I'd love to do a craft-based Christmas show. "I'd love to do glass-blowing, making glass baubles.
.. Whether it's Advent calendars or tree decorations or snow scenes on windows.
.. it's a creative time of year! "What better time to make someone a present instead of just buying it?!" Dominic discovered his knack for metalwork while working a Saturday job at a classic VW garage, despite having studied graphic design at university and deciding against a desk-bound career.
When he's not on set for The Repair Shop, Dominic is often found tinkering in his personal workshop, sharing updates on his latest endeavours via his YouTube channel. The craftsman recently let his followers in on the painstaking process of reviving a 1957 Porsche 356, a vehicle he calls his "dream car". A mere three months back, Dominic opened up about the progress, confessing that the journey to restore the vintage beauty was fraught with obstacles, not least the relentless war against rust.
Dominic will be on our screens tonight for the latest episode of The Repair shop on BBC One at 8pm..
