Ex- Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice' s final message for former partner Amanda Abbington was to give her the cold shoulder following her announcement that she was bowing out of the series. Amanda went to make complaints about Giovanni's conduct towards on the show, all of which he has firmly denied. The BBC are investigating Amanda's claims but no details have been given.
However, Giovanni was said to have been given the green light by BBC bosses to appear on the Italian version of the show, Ballando con Le Stelle. Amanda broke the news on Instagram after the official announcement on It Takes Two, stating: "It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue.
"It was an absolute joy working with my fellow contestants, they are a beautiful, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and who I will miss seeing every Friday and Saturday and competing alongside. " She also extended thanks to the production team and "everyone on Strictly who looked after me and who are so kind and caring". In contrast to other stars like Gorka Marquez, Annabel Croft, and even host Claudia Winkleman who have all sent Amanda messages of support, Giovanni notably refrained from any public reply to her post.
It soon sent tongues wagging, as a backstage source then told Daily Star: "This has really annoyed him. He's barely heard from her for 10 days. She hasn't been replying to messages or telling him what's happening.
He's been complaining about it to friends. The source also mentioned: "He is worried the drama will be damaging for his career and make him look bad." Giovanni was notably absent from her acknowledgments after he had previously expressed his disappointment at their journey ending, saying he was "so sad" they couldn't go on.
The pair have seemingly had no contact since their exits from the show, with Giovanni reportedly trying to ring the actress to clear the air, and the actress reacting by "blocking" him. Following her unexpected withdrawal from last week's Strictly Come Dancing , Amanda left fans pondering with a poignant Robin Williams quote on Instagram : "Across an image of Robin, the quote reads: "People don't fake depression..
