It appears Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell were missing a message that they were destined to win Strictly Come Dancing all along as they shared a final update days after their win. Fans of the hit dance programme saw the comedian and the professional dancer in disbelief during the final of the BBC One dance contest on Saturday night (December 14) as they were crowned the show's 2024 champions. They competed in the sparkling final where they beat off stiff competition from Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec, JB Gill and Lauren Oakley and Sarah Hadland and Vito Coopla to take the title for the 22nd series and lift the famous Glitterball trophy.

Chris said: "It’s astonishing. It’s – you know.
I don’t know what to say. I honestly thought I could go out in the first week or two and I know no-one went out in the first week but I still thought I could." The 47-year-old then shared how “anything can happen” with “support and determination” after he became the first blind contestant to win Strictly.
It was also the first time Dianne, who joined the show in 2017, has won Strictly after making it to three finals, including this years. "It’s pretty cool, she said. "Chris says that this is for me, but it’s not for me – this is for me and you, Chris.
We did this together. This is for both of us, not just me, we worked together and we did it." Now, days on from their dancing journey coming to an end, Dianne has shared the last video the pair recorded together.
Fans of the pair will know that they tried to regularly keep those supporting them in the loop with how they were getting on in training and even played some games along the way - including one where Chris brought in a KitKat from across the world before Dianne had to guess the flavour. Chris and Dianne shared their last video together (Image: Dianne Buswell Instagram) But the video got off toe a confrontational start as Chris started to probe Dianne over why he hasn't received the chocolates her dad, Mark, had bought for Chris during a trip to Belgium. She revealed he'd been asking her if Chris had enjoyed the gift 'every day' but she confessed that Chris had 'enough' chocolate in his bag, and therefore ate the ones her dad got for Chris herself.
Dianne was then quick to move on as she said: "Chris, I don't want to get you emotional but this might be our last 'guess the flavour of the KitKat'," before she added: "To be honest, the flavours are getting worse every week so I'm kind of happy about it." But Chris replied: "I think you're lucky to have this and so are the people at home. They were then seen cracking on with the game and when Dianne uploaded the video to Instagram, she captioned the post: "The series finale has come to an end [crying face emoji] the last guess the flavour of the Kit Kat from Chris and Di!" She then added: "The night before the final somebody messaged me and said that in Japan Kit Kat means 'you shall surely win'.
" And that they did. The update left fans rushing to respond. @eddo_official said: "Stopppp it was made to be from the very beginning !!! Gonna miss these ! Maybe the next time we’ll see it will be a tv series hahah.
" @buswellsdaisy commented: "And what a coincidence that’s what it means. Everything happens for a reason.2 @abbinoone added: "No way does kit kat mean that in japan!!! that’s crazy meant to be.
