A BBC presenter has shared the shows to see next week as Manchester prepares to host the Radio 6 Music Festival. The BBC Radio 6 Music Festival is returning to Manchester again for 2025 between Wednesday March 26 and Saturday March 29. This year’s lineup includes artists such as Ezra Collective, Mogwai and Kae Tempest.
Up-and-coming Leeds art-punk outfit English Teacher will also be playing, hot off the heels of their Mercury Prize winning debut This Could Be Texas. Emily Pilbeam, presenter for BBC Introducing, will be introducing the headliner for the first night and presenting on 6 Music on Friday, March 28. She says seeing new artists like English Teacher reach success is a highlight of her job on BBC Introducing.
English Teacher (Image: BBC) Emily said: “One of my favourite parts of the job is seeing all of the artists that we’ve supported go on and do well. “I talk about them all the time, but English Teacher is probably the biggest act that we’ve supported on a local level. “Watching them win the Mercury last year was pretty special.
” The festival will feature a range of venues, with three gigs in Victoria Warehouse, where the biggest names will be playing. The BBC Introducing night will kick off the whole festival on Wednesday, March 26 at YES on Charles Street in Manchester. jasmine.

4.t will be headlining, supported by singer-songwriter Renee Stormz and six-piece dance-rock band Adult DVD. Highlights from the event will be available on BBC Radio Manchester and BBC Sounds.
Renee Stormz (Image: BBC) Emily said that hosting gigs with Introducing helps give artists a bigger platform than just radio play. She said: “I think it’s really hard out there – it’s not unique for me to say that it’s pretty difficult making it as an artist. “There’s so many financial barriers to touring, to releasing music and to recording music.
“I always think Introducing is such an incredible platform in breaking down those barriers. “I think going above and beyond just radio play is such an important thing, and it’s such an important thing for Introducing as well because it makes you feel you really are a part of an artist’s journey. “Inviting artists down to play a BBC Introducing event, I think it shows that you really believe in them.
“And it shows to other people, it shows to the industry, that you really believe in this particular artist as well. “Then, you just hope that it leads on to other things.” Ezra Collective (Image: BBC) Ezra Collective and Fat Dog will be playing at Victoria Warehouse on Thursday, March 27, opening with a DJ set from 6 Music’s Jamz Supernova at 6.
45pm. There will also be the New Music Fix Live event at YES from 10pm, featuring 1-800 GIRLS, Florentino and Marie Davidson. Mogwai and English Teacher will be playing at Victoria Warehouse on Friday, March 28, opening with a DJ set from 6 Music’s Tom Ravenscroft at 6.

She said: “I saw them at Green Man Festival last year and it was probably the highlight of the whole weekend! “I think all the acts that are playing are solid, I’m really looking forward to seeing Ezra Collective again.
“Fat Dog have been getting loads of love on 6 Music at the minute. “I’ve seen Mogwai a couple of times and they’re always just incredible live. “Perfume Genius and Kae Tempest as well, and obviously the introducing night to kick it all off.
