Outnumbered star Ramona Marquez has dropped a hint that the beloved sitcom might be making a full series comeback. Earlier this year, it was announced that the BBC's hit comedy would return for a second Christmas special, with Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner reprising their roles as Pete and Sue Brockman, and Romona, Daniel Roche and Tyger Drew Honey returning as their children Karen, Ben and Jake. The sitcom, which ran for five seasons from 2007 to 2014 and had a Christmas special in 2016, chronicled the daily pandemonium of the Brockman family and their three children, who are now all grown up.

A sneak peek trailer of the 2024 Christmas special, set to air on Boxing Day (December 26), depicts the Brockmans dealing with the challenges of their adult children in their downsized home. The beleaguered couple discover they're still parenting just as much as when their kids were small as they gather their brood, including one grandchild, for a traditional family Christmas. However, it appears there may be some unwelcome news on the horizon as they grapple with how to break some unpleasant news to their children.

This is the first time in eight years that the cast have reunited on screen, and actress Romana has suggested it might not be the last. Speaking at the National Television Awards earlier this year, the TV star said: "I think people are hungry for that nostalgia." "When I heard about it I was so excited and I just hoped everyone else had the same reaction.

I think Karen will be working her magic behind the scenes. She'll be sorting stuff out and I'd like to see more of that from her.", reports the Liverpool Echo .

Expressing her thoughts on the potential of a full series revival, she hinted: "If people want it then definitely. I think the show's centred around kids but there's been shows which I really love when the kids do grow up and I love seeing them as adults as well so it depends if people want that but we'd love it." Hugh shared his anticipation for the upcoming special by saying: "I can't wait for the Brockmans to be back together again.

Pete and Sue have downsized, the children are no longer children, but I'm sure family life will prove to be just as chaotic as ever." Meanwhile, Claire expressed: "I'm really looking forward to being reunited with my TV family. Working on this wonderful BBC comedy doesn't feel like work and is one of the greatest joys for us all.

" Outnumbered Christmas Special airs Boxing Day on BBC One at 9.40pm.
