Antiques Road Trip viewers flooded expert Izzie Balmer as she shared an exciting update on the BBC programme. The jewellery expert, 36, joined the popular show in 2022 and in recent episodes, went head-to-head with Antiques Road Trip legend James Braxton. The duo went on the hunt for hidden treasures in Derbyshire before continuing their journey through Cheshire and Staffordshire.

They later competed to find the best antiques from stores in Shropshire, concluding their trip along the south coast from Liskeard to Kingsbridge. On Instagram , Izzie shared a number of behind-the-scenes snaps from the episodes, featuring them posing alongside their 1949 Morris Minor convertible and enjoying a tasty pasty. She captioned the snaps: "A few more photos of the wonderful time I had on the road with Mr Braxton, including a pasty eating competition! Who do you reckon ate their pasty the fastest, @jamesbraxtonofficial or yours truly? (Spoiler; it wasn't me!).

" Izzie added: "All episodes of @antiqueroadtrip can be watched on @bbciplayer - four whole weeks worth of episodes with some new faces to the team too!" Antiques Road Trip fans rushed to comment on the post, with many branding Izzie and James their "favourite" pairing. One declared: "Great pics! I enjoyed watching that week of Road Trip, such a great watch. Izzie, you look amazing and are ridiculously knowledgeable! And James is great too.

.. I ended up buying his book after that week and I rarely even read.

" A second echoed: "Definitely my favourite week of Antiques Road Trip ever Izzie." Another agreed: "My all time favourite ART pairing. Great fun.

I would hazard a guess Mr Braxton finished the pasty first. Don't know why I think that, just an inkling..

" Someone else said it was a "brilliant week" while another gushed: "My two favourite people on road trip." Last week, viewers were greeted with newcomer Tahmina Ghaffar, who made her first appearance as a new expert. Tahmina, an expert in Islamic and Indian art, teamed up with David Harper for a road trip, with the pair beginning their journey in the Lancashire countryside and ending on the Pembrokeshire coast.

Fans were impressed with Tahmina's show debut and many took to social media to compliment her knowledge. "New girl knows her stuff, very good so far but the auction is the litmus test," one fan said, while another added: "Tahmina is a very cool addition to the lineup of experts - I think her purchases today would have done better in an auction further south - some great buys all round though." Tahmina graduated from The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London and went on to work at the auction house Sotheby's in the Islamic and Indian and the South Asian departments.
