A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi, Haruna Abubakar has alleged that some members of the party are being cajoled into the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in a bid to deliberately thwart the gubernatorial aspiration of the Minister of Health and Social Welfare ahead of 2027 polls. Speaking at a contact and mobilization meeting at Soro village in Ganjuwa LGA of the state, the APC Chieftain said that the move to clinch the state gubernatorial seat by the Minister Ali Pate has assumed an unprecedented dimension that no amount of campaign of calumny can reverse it. Malam Haruna Abubakar who also doubles up as the State Coordinator for Contact and Mobilization Committee of Professor Ali Pate’s governorship aspiration, also alleged that some APC members in 2015 General election, perpetrated similar atrocity against Ali Pate when he aspired for the gubernatorial seat under the People’s Redemption Party (PRP).

The coordinator further recalled that those party members were the same elements that constituted a clog in the wheels of the APC gubernatorial candidate, Air Marshall Sadiq Baba Abubakar’s 2023 electioneering processes that culminated to the party’s failure to grasp the Bauchi apex seat. Abubakar, revealed that the Health Minister, in the drive to ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secure at least 45% of votes in Bauchi State in the 2027 polls, has so far provided employment to over 300 indigenes of Bauchi state especially in the health sector. “It was through the efforts of Minister Pate that Bauchi became the only state in the federation with two teaching hospitals, two school of nursing, a Federal Medical Center, an orthopedic hospital, Cancer Diagnostic and Treatment Centre, National Fistula Surgery Hospital and Federal University of Agriculture”” “The establishment of these educational institutions has generated employment opportunities for citizens of the state, apart from those to be recruited into the ongoing construction of other new institutions as well as the new comprehensive healthcare centres in each of the 774 LGA’s across the states of the federation including Bauchi” he said Coordinator Ajiya noted that some APC governorship aspirants in the state have even stepped down for Ali Pate, taking into cognisance his adaptability, competence and tackrecord of good works in the past.

He said that Professor Ali Pate who abandoned a multi-million dollar foreign job only to serve his country, cannot in any circumstance, siphon public funds as wrongly insinuated by some people..
