Baton Rouge teacher's 2016 murder will be subject of ABC News' 'Bad Romance' episode tonight

“Bad Romance,” a limited true crime series from ABC News, will examine the 2016 disappearance and murder of Baton Rouge teacher Lyntell Washington at 9 p.m. Tuesday.

"When a passerby finds a 3-year-old girl with blood on her feet wandering alone in a parking lot, authorities embark on a multiday search for her missing mother," the episode synopsis states. "When law enforcement finds the pregnant teacher shot in the head, they are also given a cryptic clue from her toddler. As investigators dig deeper, they learn Washington had a secret affair with a co-worker — a man whose own secrets and carefully constructed alibi raise even more disturbing questions.



" The victim, 40 and pregnant at the time of her death, was an instructional specialist at Brookstown Magnet Honors Academy. She had been romantically linked to Robert Jovantie Marks, assistant principal at the same school. In 2021, Marks was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for Washington's murder.
