An allegedly intoxicated bartender who was reportedly serving herself when she wasn't serving others was arrested on April 12 on a DUI 2nd charge at a Long Grove Road service station. At about 9:54 p.m.
, Mount Pleasant police spotted the female driver of a silver Mitsubishi SUV switching lanes without signaling at the N. Hwy 17/IOP Connector intersection. An initial attempt to initiate a traffic stop, however, was unsuccessful, as the subject continued driving past Hungryneck Boulevard toward Rifle Range Road.
Her non-compliance forced the authorities to activate their signal in short blasts to coax the woman to pull over. The suspect, identified as Lynn Bilodeau, a 42-year-old White female, ultimately pulled into a Circle K station on Long Grove Road. When approached by police, she attributed her unwillingness to stop to not being able to identify a safe space to park in, which the cops didn't buy.
Police noted Bilodeau's slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, erratic behavior and pungent odor of alcohol emanating from her person. The accused party communicated that she was returning home from her job as a bartender at Bohemian Bull, where she reportedly consumed one shot of whiskey an hour prior. When asked for her consent to partake in SFSTs (Standardized Field Sobriety Tests), the woman offered an evasive response.
The restaurant worker was subsequently placed under arrest for operating a vehicle while impaired. Bilodeau later changed her story to drinking two glasses of wine. While at the police station, the detained female refused to submit a breath sample and was promptly issued a suspension.
A background check on the individual revealed that she had previously been brought into custody for DUI on May 15, as detailed in the corresponding police incident report..
