You can almost always count on the spirits community to come together when there’s a good cause on the line, and the 501(c)(3) organization Team Chad has already raised more than $2 million over the past 16 years to support the treatment and care of cancer patients in Middle Tennessee. One of their major fundraisers is coming up tomorrow night, Saturday, Nov. 16, with the Barrels at the Bedford gala tasting event and auction starting at 6 p.

Among the live auction items is a complete selection of Pappy Van Winkle products, which Cool Springs Wine & Spirits has squirreled away for this special occasion.

Together they'll discuss the crucial role women play in preserving and advancing community through food and family. Murray is the editor of Local Palate , a preeminent magazine of Southern food and culture, and Donovan is a New York Times food columnist, a James Beard award-winning writer and an internationally renowned pastry chef who has redefined what it means to be a “Southern baker.” Copies of When Southern Women Cook will be available for purchase from Parnassus Books during the event.
The evening will also include hors d'oeuvres inspired by the recipes in the book, along with refreshing spirits. Tickets are still available at the event website ..
