Barca youth goalkeeper Yaakobishvili saves penalty and scores Panenka

Young Barcelona goalkeeper Áron Yaakobishvili was the hero on Thursday night in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey. The game against Damm went to a shootout and saw Yaakobishvili save a penalty for his side and then step up to take the final kick. Yaakobishvili was calmness personified as he didn’t just score the crucial penalty, he came up with a cheeky Panenka to seal the victory in some style.

Talks over a new contract for the 18-year-old have broken down and the stopper is set to head away in search of a new challenge. Before then, he’ll continue to see out the season for Barcelona’s Juvenil A team.

The youngsters now go on to play Athletic in the quarter-finals of the youth tournament..
