Barcelona have confirmed that Lamine Yamal will be out of action for 2-3 weeks due to an ankle problem that ruled him out of Sunday’s loss to Real Sociedad . The forward will not now link up with the Spain squad for Nations League fixtures and will remain in Barcelona to recuperate. Yamal sustained the injury during the Champions League tie against Red Star Belgrade but will now be able to get some rest due to the international break.

Here’s the club’s statement: LATEST NEWS ▶ Tests this morning confirmed that first team player Lamine Yamal has a grade 1 high right ankle sprain. He is expected to be out for two to three weeks. ▶ Robert Lewandowski has suffered a lower back injury.

Robert Lewandowski also misses out with Poland due to a back problem . Barca will be eager for both players to return to fitness quickly as they have been key to the club’s brilliant start to the season.
