An encounter has erupted between security forces and terrorists near the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla district, following a joint anti-infiltration operation launched in the area. Indian Army’s Chinar Corps announced the operation on social media platform X. “Based on intelligence inputs regarding likely infiltration bid, a Joint anti-infiltration Operation was launched by #IndianArmy &@JmuKmrPolicealong LOC in general area Uri, #Baramulla.

com/o8upbKJGs9 Based on intelligence inputs, the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police initiated the operation along the LoC in the Uri region of Baramulla. Soldiers detected suspicious movement and challenged the individuals, prompting terrorists to open indiscriminate fire. Security forces retaliated and the encounter is currently ongoing.

Meanwhile, two terrorists were arrested from Poonch district, as confirmed by Jammu and Kashmir’s Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain on Saturday. He stated that these arrests have helped solve several grenade attack cases. Jain said, “We have achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting two terrorists involved in grenade attacks and anti-national activities, such as placing posters in sensitive areas.

Grenades were thrown at gurdwaras, temples, hospitals, and military installations.” He added that these terrorists intended to disrupt the communal harmony of the region.
