Bao buns, burgers, and gyros: Street food lineup unveiled for upcoming STACK

A tasty lineup of street food traders has been unveiled for the upcoming Middlesbrough STACK.

Final touches are being put on the upcoming shipping container village , which is set to open at the undercroft of the A66 flyover, where it meets Exchange Square. The project - first announced by The Danieli Group in 2022 - is hoping to launch in early December, following several delays due to essential works on the bridge. Now, bosses behind the scheme have unveiled the five vendors who will be operating the street food offerings at the site.

Work is continuing on the new STACK (Image: STACK) Opening at STACK Middlesbrough will mark the tenth outlet for Greek food specialists, Acropolis, which have been regulars at the Orange Pip Market for the past seven years. “We love Middlesbrough and we have lots of customers who come to eat our food at Orange Pip Market,” said Filip Tachan of Acropolis. “It’s a great place and we have loved meeting so many people over the past few years, so when the opportunity to be part of STACK Middlesbrough came up, we didn’t hesitate.



” Also joining STACK Middlesbrough is Bao Down, which offers a range of filled bao buns, gyozas, katsu curries and loaded fries. Middlesbrough STACK is set to open in December (Image: STACK) Bao Down has been a regular at Orange Pip Market originating in Newton Aycliffe, with Alex Hundson, who runs the site, saying: “When I was younger we’d always come to Middlesbrough for a night out and it’s always had a fantastic music and street food scene. “It absolutely suits STACK down to the ground and I’m very excited about it opening.

We’re going to be in a great location with a really urban feel and I can’t wait.” Brack Burger is also joining the lineup, known for its homemade burgers, as well as duck-wrap and loaded fries venue Holy Duck and Zza Pizzeria, which specialises in authentic pizzas, cooked to order. Along with the food outlets, STACK Middlesbrough will have three bars, along with a central plaza with seating and a stage for live entertainment.
