VOLLEYBALL : BSP has come on board with a K50,000 backing for the Volleyball National Championships hosted in Port Moresby. PNG Volleyball Federation President Edward Aisi extended his gratitude to the company, “thank you to BSP as always they have come on board with K50,000 sponsorship for this club championships, U-21 Championships, Open Championships and beach volleyball championships so it couldn’t have been made possible if it wasn’t for BSP, apart from the K50,000 support, they also supported us with merchandises so our massive thank you towards BSP for their commitment towards PNGVF.” He added that this is BSP’s fourth year of support towards the federation, “we have also gotten a good support from Nambawan Trophy Haus who have come on board as partners and have given us K23, 000 worth of sports equipment trophies and shields and we appreciate that and we hope to build that partnership longer.

” Aisi said they had also received support from CPL Group and Paradise Biscuits, “we also had CPL Group come on board and support us with 50 cartons of water and so that’s also a good support and we also have support from Paradise Biscuits with 20 cartons of assorted biscuits to be delivered, which should be plenty to feed our volunteers and technical officials and perhaps maybe one or two cartons to teams from outside to keep them going during this ten days of championships.” Despite not being able to host the Championships in 2022 due to preparations for the Pacific Games, they’ve reached out this year to BSP and have gotten backing. “This year we’ve gone back to BSP and our affiliates to run their champions club system again prior to all the other tournaments, the Open and U-21.

“It has been good and there are 16 teams in the men and 8 teams in the women’s division and what a way to start it off with four champion clubs that we believe will go through to the finals and only the best two will play in the grand- final, that’s a really good start and credit to the tournament director to start off on a high note.”.
