THE Member for Koroba-Kopaigo and Minister for Coffee William Bando has commended the Hela Provincial Government for sending 120 second chance students to Parul University in India. Mr Bando said initiative taken by the Hela Provincial Government led by the Provincial Member Philp Undalialu, provincial administration led by Mr Marago Dagoba and the division of education led by Ronny Angu for sending a huge number of students selected from all over Hela to go out and study abroad all at once is a greatest achievement for Hela, and PNG as well. “The key to improving our communities, province, and nation and unlocking the potential of each person lies in the hand of educated people.

Having a educated population and capturing the needs and providing the avenue for the school dropout is the way forward in addressing some of the social problems like law and order, poverty and other social disorder in the society,” he said. He made the remarks after 120 students from Hela flew out of the country to study at Parul University in India on Friday. “On behalf of my people, I commend the Hela Provincial Government led by Philip Undialu, Provincial Administrator Marago Tagoba, Education Director Ronny Angu, the Flexible Open Distance Education and TVET Inspector Thomas Kopari, and his wife to assist and give a second chance to the many young people who dropped out of the formal education system an opportunity to pursue their dreams.

It’s a worthy investment to sponsor the students to India. “It does not matter who goes or from which district, they are all from Hela and they are our children. “My advice to the students is ‘be Disciplined’ for it will take you to heights you never foresaw.

“You are fortunate to be selected and sponsored..
