On Dec 12, a few hours after Balyan was granted bail in an extortion case by a Delhi court, he was arrested again by Delhi Police in a separate FIR on charges under MCOCA.

Earlier, Balyan was arrested on Nov 30, hours after BJP publicly played an audio clip of what it claimed was a con versation between Balyan and a gangster..
