Clear skies, cold temperatures and gusty winds will greet residents Wednesday throughout the Baltimore region as the area continues to dig out from heavy snows that fell earlier this week. The National Weather Service forecast for midweek calls for sunny days with chilly temperatures that barely climb about freezing. On Wednesday, the high will be around 31, with lows in the teens and wind gusts of up to 25 mph.

Thursday is expected to bring more of the same with even more blustery conditions as winds gust as high as 34 mph. Bitterly cold wind chills are forecast for Thursday night. By Friday, winds decrease as chances for a second round of snow increase.

The high will be near 35 with the overnight low around 26. There’s a 70% chance of precipitation from Friday night into Saturday, which would mean a snowy start to the weekend. While the weather service cautioned it is too early to forecast how much snow will fall, as of Wednesday chances were favorable for a lighter snow than what was seen with Monday’s storm, which dropped over 6 inches on many areas across the state.

The forecast for Saturday calls for partly sunny weather with a high near 37 and a low around 26. Sunday looks nearly identical with a high near 36 and lows around 21..
