As some 400 folks filled the Jim Rouse Center at the American Visionary Art Museum to help the Casey Cares Foundation celebrate its 25th year at its annual gala, founder Casey Baynes made the rounds greeting her guests, while also trying to take in what it all meant to her.“Looking around the room, I realized we’ve helped half a million sick kids and family [members]. When you see these friendly faces and you know what they’ve been through, that’s when it hits you,” she said.

When I went looking for a dress, I took six minutes. This was the first one I tried on and I thought, oh, this will work. Then, I came to the party and everybody is wearing silver dresses, silver bowties.
I definitely missed the mark on this one,” she said with a laugh. From left – Stuart Madden, scientist, Annette Baldwin, Howard County Health Department nurse practitioner, Mike Sloan, retired engineer, and Lucy Eldridge, economist, at Casey Cares Foundation’s 25th Annual Silver Gala (Sloane Brown)From left – Steve Manekin, Vallit Advisors managing director/Casey Cares Foundation board member, and Bob Weltchek, Casey Cares board president/event chair, at Casey Cares Foundation’s 25th Annual Silver Gala (Sloane Brown)From left – Tenille Cox, MedStar Health operations manager, Julie Healey, BD human resources business partner, Maggi Clarke, stay-at-home mom, and Laura Ewing, preschool teacher, at Casey Cares Foundation’s 25th Annual Silver Gala (Sloane Brown)From left – Jake Baynes, Lower sales development representative, Julia Koeppel, Casey Cares Foundation program coordinator, Casey Baynes, Casey Cares founder/executive director, Mackenzie Baynes, Casey Cares regional manager, and Mike Baynes, Lower co-founder, at Casey Cares Foundation’s 25th Annual Silver Gala (Sloane Brown)From left – John Richardson, The Natural Sapphire Company chief operating officer, Chris Ewing, Rev& founder, and Jason Manger, MoveDocs senior vice president, at Casey Cares Foundation’s 25th Annual Silver Gala (Sloane Brown)From left – Myles Hunter, project engineer, Chris Haslup, project manager, Patrick Sinacore, project manager, and Brian Coltrane, E4H Architecture senior principal, at Casey Cares Foundation’s 25th Annual Silver Gala (Sloane Brown)From left – Blake Cain, Paul Reed Smith Guitars production manager, and Chris Matusz, Total Sports Performance owner, at Casey Cares Foundation’s 25th Annual Silver Gala (Sloane Brown)From left – Steve Griffiths, Paragon Lines owner, Todd Travis, Casey Cares Foundation board member/event co-chair, Stephanie Travis, community volunteer, and Gwen Allen, Reno & Cavanaugh attorney, at Casey Cares Foundation’s 25th Annual Silver Gala (Sloane Brown)The steamed shrimp station went over the top by being both delish and themed decor.
