Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 is a special game. Not only does the game have one of the best written characters in all of gaming, but their performances are sublime as well with characters getting the chance to record together over the game’s years of development. While Baldur’s Gate 3 development is mostly over with the arrival of Patch 8 next year, the game’s cast still gets together.
In an interview with GinxTV , Astarion voice actor Neil Newbon has looked back at the last year of the game’s release. During this period, the game’s vast cast of talented performers have managed to become “genuine friends”, not just actor friends who see each other once every few years. The Baldur’s Gate 3 cast is one big friend group Speaking in the interview, Newbon explained that the game’s extensive cast has become “hardcore friends” with many of them still hanging out.
In fact, some of them have even played Dungeons and Dragons together since the game’s release. “We’re genuine friends,” Newbon said. “I was lucky, I got to meet everybody in the cast with maybe a few exceptions.
.. through that, I’ve come away with some hardcore friends from this beautiful experience that we now get to tour with.
Tim Downey is a friend, Jennifer Aliona, Devora, Theo, Sam Beart. “We get to work together and we get to hang out with friends. We have friendship now, which is a really beautiful thing to come away with.
.. It’s a really beautiful experience and it’s been great to have life beyond it.
Also working with Wizards of the Coast now, which is amazing, getting to know them really well, and they’re super supportive and they champion us a lot and they deserve a lot of respect from us. I’m very grateful to Wizards for all the support they’ve been giving us. So it’s been awesome man.
It’s been really fun.” While some actors that are part of major projects have been used as the sale for a game or its merchandise, fans have fallen in love with the cast of Baldur’s Gate 3 for their performances. Famously, Neil Newbon ad-libbed one of the best moments in the game , and fans will never forget a performance like that.
“It’s been such a wonderful year since the game got released,” Newbon said. “It’s been extraordinary. We’re very privileged.
We’re not entitled to this. I have to say, we’re privileged to do this.” While Baldur’s Gate 3 is mostly over now, Larian Studios is working on its next project.
Slated for 2028 at the absolute earliest, the team has revealed that they’re “buzzing” with excitement for the new RPG . It’s not known if Neil Newbon or any of the cast of BG3 will return for Larian’s next project, but there’s always hope..
