Bach in the Subways returns March 29

VACAVILLE — Alina Solodovnikova-Adams and her students will continue a six-year tradition on March 29 joining an international movement to put classical music where the people are and sow the seeds for new generations of listeners and players.

VACAVILLE — Alina Solodovnikova-Adams and her students will continue a six-year tradition on March 29 joining an international movement to put classical music where the people are and sow the seeds for new generations of listeners and players. Thousands of musicians across the world participate in the annual tradition celebrating Johann Sebastian Bach’s birthday in March by performing his timeless legacy in public, subways, parks, squares and other public spaces. Recognized by the State Assembly, Alina’s Music Studio celebrated it’s 20th anniversary serving Solano County in December 2023.

Solodovnikova-Adams brought the tradition of the Bach performances in 2019. The performance begins a 1 p.m.



in The Library courtyard, next to Journey Downtown, 300 Main St. “Our mission is to bring Bach to as many people around the world as possible,” said Dale Henderson, the New York City-based cellist who founded Bach in the Subways Day in 2010 and leads the movement today. "My long-term vision for Bach in the Subways," Henderson said in the press release, "is to bring a renaissance of interest and inspiration and excitement about classical music to, ideally, the globe.
