Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the squad for the white-ball tour to Australia. The board named a strong team, with Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf, making a return. Fakhar Zaman, however, was left out of the squad.

The ODI series gets underway on November 4 in Melbourne. Along with the senior players, Aamir Jamal, Arafat Minhas, Faisal Akram, Haseebullah, Muhammad Irfan Khan, and Saim Ayub received their maiden ODI call-up for Pakistan. Pakistan's performance in white-ball cricket hasn't been great in recent times but a decent outing in Australia will set them up nicely for the ICC Champions Trophy at home.

Pakistan will have to compile a balanced playing XI to be able to test Australia on their home soil. Pakistan's Strongest XI For Australia ODI SeriesSaim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique should open the innings for Pakistan. While Ayub likes to take the attack to the opposition, Shafique is technically sound and provides stability.

The openers will be followed by senior batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Kamran Ghulam should bat at five. He comes into the series after a good show against England where he scored a hundred in the second Test, and will hold the key in the middle order.

Haseebullah Khan should also find a place in the team at six. Salman Ali Agha will add depth to the side with his all-round skills. Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Mohammad Hasnain should form the potent pace attack.
