Ramdev vs RoohAfza

While promoting Patanjali’s new rose water sherbet (a highly sweetened drink), the firm’s co-founder, Ramdev Baba, slammed the rival brand. Without naming the product and the company, he held the same in the promo video and alleged that it funded mosques and madrasas. The self-styled baba warned that consuming the product promotes ‘ Sherbet Jehad .

’ Sharbat ke naam par ek company hai jo sharbat toh deti hai lekin jo sharbat se jo paisa milta hai us se madarse aur masjide banwati hai. Banwane dijiye, unka wo mazhab hai. Lekin aap yadi vo sharbat piyenge toh masjid aur madarse banenge.

Aur Patanjali ka gulab ka sharbat pite hai, aap toh gurukul banenge. Ye sharbat jehad, love jehad, vote jehad chal raha hai na? Ese sharbat jehad bhi chal raha hai. Aapko ye sharbat jehad se bachana hai.

(There’s a company that sells sharbat for funding masjid and madarsa. Let them, as it is their faith. But if you consume it, you are partaking in the same.

But if you drink this rose sharbat from Patanjali, you will ensure the establishment of sacred institutes like gurukul. In line with love jihad and vote jihad, this sharbat jihad is also running in the country. And you need to stay safe from the same.

) Meanwhile, RoohAfza’s manufacturer, Hamdard, in its veiled response on X/Twitter, claimed that the company doesn’t compromise on quality. The firm stated that it follows stringent Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Food Safety Management System (FSMS) to eliminate any contamination risk to ensure the sanctity of the sherbet. In a series of other tweets, the company claimed RoohAfza is safe from adulteration as it uses FSSAI-approved herbs and other natural ingredients.

Every sip of RoohAfza is made with FSSAI-approved ingredients — from herbs to natural flavors — with no artificial adulteration. We’re committed to delivering quality and authenticity in every bottle. Enjoy the refreshing taste you can trust! #HamdardRoohAfza #KnowYourRoohAfza pic.
