11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Avita was born on July 11, 1933, in Kaplan, La. to Edian and Odeya.
Avita loved caring for her family, sewing, cooking, and playing card games with her grandchildren. The highlight of her life was being a homemaker, taking care of her family the most and enjoying little shopping trips here and there. Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Anita Quibodeaux and Hilton Lee Richard and wife, April; four grandchildren, Clint Richard, Kelly Debenport and husband, Brian, Nicky Richard, and Colt Richard; and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene P. Richard; parents, and one son, E.J.
Richard. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. Visitation will be from 5 p.
m. until 7 p.m.
with a 6 p.m. rosary on Friday, Dec.
13, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. Visitation will resume Saturday until time of services at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines South.
