The western suburbs will soon welcome a new Mediterranean-inspired dining destination that promises “fusion techniques and dishes found nowhere else in Perth”. Avalon is set to open at an apartment complex called The Grove Residences in Claremont on February 5. Co-founders Italian Simone Sichel and Greek George Tsimpidis have combined a rich heritage and shared passion for innovation to showcase a menu that re-imagines Mediterranean flavours.
“At Avalon, we’re not just serving food, we’re inspiring diners to engage with our fusion techniques and dishes they won’t find anywhere else in Perth,” Mr Tsimpidis, who is also the creative force behind the kitchen, Mr Tsimpidis said. True to its namesake, “an island paradise,” the duo claim to offer more than a culinary experience, guaranteeing “a haven for comfort and relaxation”. Mr Tsimpidis said the thoughtfully curated interiors are pivotal in the dining experience.
“Avalon’s design reflects our dedication to creating an immersive dining experience. From custom-designed armchairs to spacious table settings, every detail has been considered to enhance comfort and invite guests to fully unwind,” he said. “Our European roots taught us the value of hospitality from a young age, and we aim to bring that same warmth and attention to detail here.
At Avalon, every guest will feel cared for from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.” A stand-out feature at Avalon is it’s approach to unrushed dining. “We’ve chosen to limit dinner service to a single seating,” Ms Sichel said.
“This allows our guests to truly relax and enjoy their time with friends without the pressure of table turnover. Our goal is for everyone to experience the full vision of what the origins of Avalon represent.” The restaurant will serve dinner Tuesday to Saturday and lunch Thursday to Saturday.
