A former children’s laureate, an award-winning comic and a disability campaigner are among the Brighton team set to compete on the Christmas edition of University Challenge. The alumni from the University of Brighton will battle against teams from other institutions when they take part in the BBC Two quiz show today (Boxing Day). Professor Taylor graduated from the university in 1986 and has since gone on to become a leading figure in the NHS and an expert witness in court cases involving drugs. Chris Riddell OBE received an honorary doctorate in 2019 having first graduated in 1984 and going on to be children’s laureate.
Hannah Berry became the first female comics laureate and graduated from the University of Brighton in 2004.
