According to the latest report from the National Weather Service , Austin residents can expect a high of 72 degrees this afternoon, with a calm north wind at around 5 to 10 mph. The evening will remain clear with a low around 43 degrees, and winds shifting southerly after midnight.
Friday is set to bring a noticeable warm-up, with temperatures soaring to a high near 81 degrees, and south winds picking up the pace between 10 and 15 mph, gusts could reach as high as 25 mph. The nighttime will be mostly clear with a mild low around 54 degrees, and continuing south winds may gust up to 20 mph, thankfully the humidity will stay relatively low. Looking ahead to the weekend, the National Weather Service predicts a mostly sunny Saturday with a high near 86 degrees.
Light winds from the south will gain strength, potentially gusting to around 25 mph. By Saturday night, the skies will turn partly cloudy with a pleasant low of around 63 degrees. For those planning their Sunday outings, expect it to be mostly cloudy, with high temperatures once again hitting the 86-degree mark.
Southwesterly winds of 5 to 10 mph could usher in gusts as strong as 20 mph. As the day turns to night, there's a 30 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m.
The week will start with sunny skies and a return to a high near 82 degrees on Monday, a perfect refrain after the weekend's potential showers, and Monday night will stay mostly clear with a low around 57 degrees. To wrap up the current forecast, Tuesday's temperatures are expected to continue the ascending trend, reaching a sunny high near 88 degrees.
