Auditor General to embark on nationwide payroll audit

Auditor General, Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu, has announced that his office will be embarking on a nationwide payroll audit of all covered entities on the government of Ghana Controller and Accountant General’s payroll. The audit will cover ministries, departments, agencies, and all subvented organizations for the period of January 2023 to December 2024 and will include a headcount of all staff on the government payroll. A letter announcing the intent called on all departments and agencies to give unhindered access to all books, returns, and other documents to the Audit Service.
