Visitors can explore a recreation of a wartime Portland dockyard, where thousands of American troops embarked for Normandy. The museum will be open daily from Saturday, April 5 to Sunday, April 20, from 10am to 4pm. The centre boasts a full-size replica Spitfire, a Bofors 40mm gun, interactive displays and a German D-Day bunker.

Visitors can also climb aboard a Sherman tank for a photo opportunity. Family tickets are priced at £30, covering two adults and two children. "Unlike most museums, we pride ourselves on offering a hands-on, interactive experience, where visitors can climb aboard authentic WW2 vehicles, handle real wartime artifacts, and step inside a reconstructed German D-Day bunker." The centre is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) and plays a vital role in the Castletown Regeneration Project. The project, led by Derek Luckhurst, founder and chairman of Agincare, has introduced key infrastructure, including Crabbers’ Wharf, a tourist information centre, a local convenience shop and the Black Barge Development.
