Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda reacted sharply to Mallikarjun Kharge's letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and noted that things mentioned by the Congress president were ‘far from reality’. He added that Kharge either forgot the misdeeds of his party leaders, including Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi or deliberately ignored them. “You have written a letter to PM Modi in an attempt to polish your failed product, which has been repeatedly rejected by the public, and bring it to the market due to political compulsion,” Nadda wrote in his letter to Kharge.

He said that after reading the Congress president's letter to the Prime Minister, he felt things Kharge mentioned were far from reality. “It seems that in the letter you have either forgotten the misdeeds of your leaders, including Rahul Gandhi or have deliberately ignored them, so I felt that it was important to bring those things to your notice in detail,” he added. Nadda went on to say that it was ‘sad’ that the oldest party in the country has now become a “copy and paste party under the pressure of its famous prince.

What Mallikarjun Kharge said? On September 17, Kharge wrote a letter to PM Modi and raised issues of ‘extremely objectionable’ and violent statements made by several leaders of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) targeting Rae Bareli MP Rahul Gandhi. Urging the Prime Minister to discipline his leaders, Kharge said that strict legal action should be taken against people who make such statements to prevent Indian politics from degenerating. “You must be aware that a series of extremely objectionable, violent and rude statements are being made against the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, ” Kharge asserted.

In an apparent reference to the comments by Ravneet Singh Bittu and Raghuraj Singh, the Congress chief claimed the ‘world is shocked’ that the Minister of State for Railways and a minister from BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh have called Gandhi ‘number one terrorist’. He further highlighted how Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad has announced a reward of ₹11 lakh to the person , who will cut the tongue of the Leader of the Opposition. Kharge also mentioned the ‘threatening’ remarks by former MLA from Delhi, Tarvinder Singh Marvah.

Congress had earlier shared a video on X, stating that Marvah openly issued an assassination threat against Rahul Gandhi and said, " Rahul Gandhi baaz aaja, nahi toh aane wale time mein tera bhi wohi haal hoga jo teri dadi ka haal hua (you better behave, or you will meet the same fate as your grandmother)”. Ajay Maken, AICC treasurer and general secretary, on Wednesday even submitted a complaint to the SHO of the Tughlaq Road police station against the NDA leaders..
