Atishi says there's just one Delhi CM — Kejriwal; BJP calls her 'dummy'

Delhi Chief Minister-elect Atishi on Tuesday (September 17) thanked outgoing chief minister Arvind Kejriwal for choosing her as his successor. Atishi thanked her 'guru' Kejriwal for bestowing trust in her and giving her this huge responsibility. Addressing her first press conference after being named as the Delhi chief minister, Atishi said, "On behalf of all AAP MLAs and the two crore people of Delhi that there is just one CM of Delhi - Arvind Kejriwal.

" Atishi is first-time politician who rose through the ranks. "Had I been in any other party, perhaps I would not have been given even an election ticket. But Arvind Kejriwal trusted me, made me an MLA and a minister and today gave me the responsibility of the CM," she said.

Congress Delhi chief Devendra Yadav congratulated Atishi. He said, "The AAP government cannot run away from the promises that they made after the formation of their government. She has become the Chief Minister for just three months as AAP has been exposed in front of the public.

Congress will form government in 2025.".
