You finished 10 of 12 at the plate, and seem to be hitting the ball hard. How were you feeling: We started off the week strong. I knew it was going to be a long week with the four games.

I had some pretty strong at-bats. I knew that I had to stay calm, do my job and stay consistent in that No. 4 spot.

Is there any pressure being the clean-up hitter: Not really. I know we have a strong lineup. I know the players behind me will always pick me up if I walk, strike out or whatever it is.

I know we have some pretty good bats behind me to pick me up. What was your offseason like? How much time did you dedicate to getting yourself ready for the season: We have been working hard since the non-mandatory sessions, going to the weight room and working on the hitting. Even though it was optional, our whole team was really involved, and have put in a lot of time to get ready for this season.

I think that’s where it all started for us. Evaluate yourself five games into the season. You have to be pretty happy with where you are at: I am very happy, but I am trying to stay in the zone and focus on doing what I am doing.

I just want to keep going strong. Lake-Lehman is also off to a 5-0 start. You have to be pretty excited about that, as well: I’m very happy.

Our team has such a close-knit bond and it really showed in that Dallas game. For us, it’s about starting off strong, working together and supporting Hannah (Chipego) on that mound. Get To Know Kaitlyn Brudnicki Year: Junior.

What are some of your hobbies outside of school: I live on Lake Silkworth, so I really enjoy swimming and other water activities, such as tubing and water skiing. How would you describe yourself to someone: I would say that I am really outgoing. I am not afraid to be myself, even meeting new people.

Favorite food: Cheese ravioli. Dream vacation would be: Going to Australia and snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef. Favorite school subject: Biology.

Your team is coming over for dinner and you are the chef. What are you making them: Probably a pasta buffet with a bunch of different sauces and noodles. Favorite TV show: “Grey’s Anatomy” Favorite movie: “The Sandlot” Last song you listened to: “Get Jiggy” by Baby Kia.

Favorite restaurant: Olive Garden. Funniest teammate: Hannah Chipego. What superpower would you pick: Teleportation.

You can bat against anyone, who you would you pick: I would love to bat against Jennie Finch. She was such a great pitcher, and so I would definitely pick her. Any pregame rituals: My superstition is that my right sock always has to go on first before anything.

It’s always my right sock, and then, my left sock. Role model: My coach, Nikki Chipego. Coach Nikki is there for you no matter what.

She’s more than just a coach. She’s always there if you need a friend. She’s always there to talk to, and she always has a positive mindset that keeps you in the right mind frame.

You can have dinner with any three people, who would you pick: My grandfather, Edward, Cooper DeJean and Alec Bohm. Future plans: Kaitlyn will attend Frostburg State in Maryland to continue her academic and softball careers. She is looking into forensic science.
