At Round House Theatre, an issue play elevated by two D.C. greats

has been spoiled in recent months with back-to-back double bills starring the long-reigning MVPs of area stages. They were excellent last fall as reluctant friends who slipped into an easy rhythm , then drifted apart, in David Auburn’s “Summer, 1976” at Studio Theatre. Now, they’re playing stubborn antagonists facing off at Round House Theatre, on opposing sides of a heated and timely argument.
