Talk linking Aston Villa with Juventus attacker Dusan Vlahovic refuses to go away. Reports have surfaced again concerning the Serbian and a move to the Premier League after they first came to light a month ago . Vlahovic made his name in Italy with Fiorentina, who he joined as a teenager in 2018, but he has continued to maintain his reputation as one of the most potent forwards in Serie A in the three years he has spent with the Old Lady.
And now fresh reports claim Villa are 'seriously interested' in exploring a potential move for Vlahovic this summer. He has already scored 14 goals in 35 appearances for Juve this term - including four in nine Champions League outings. Villa are after a striker to compete with first choice forward Ollie Watkins.
Vlahovic, 25, signed his last contract with Juve in 2022 and that deal is due to expire in the summer of 2026, but there remains no sign of the forward agreeing fresh terms to extend his stay, despite Juve director Cristian Giuntoli confirming before Christmas that talks were planned. “The rapport with Vlahovic and his agent is extraordinary. He still has another year on his contract, we’ll meet up after the January window closes," Giuntoli said.
"There is still time to sort things out and progress in the best possible way.” Arsenal have also been strongly linked with a move for Vlahovic, who was described by his former boss Thiago Motta as a 'champion', but Villa could make a move with the Gunners also weighing up an offer for Sporting Lisbon hotshot Viktor Gyokeres. Team Talk add that new boss Igor Tudor has been asked to 'maximise' Vlahovic's performances in the remaining weeks of the season in order to get the best possible deal for him in the summer, in the event he heads into the final year of his contract having failed to agree a fresh one.
They add that Juventus are keen to bank as much as £33.5m if they're to part with Vlahovic, who is currently playing second fiddle to French international Randal Kolo Muani, this summer. Manchester United, Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have all also been linked.
