Assault and thefts from shop A man was fined and ordered to pay compensation after assaulting a woman and a series of thefts from shops. Dylan Sanderson, 39, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court that he had stolen alcohol from the Co-op on January 22 this year and had assaulted a woman that same day.

He also confessed to stealing four cans of Stella from the Co-op in Winter Hey Lane in Horwich on January 17 and to failing to surrender to police or bail on March 26. Sanderson, of Hazel Pear Close, Horwich, was ordered to pay compensation of £25 and a fine of £40 with costs of £85 and a surcharge of £40. Licence and insurance A man was ordered to pay up after driving without a proper licence or insurance.



Shaun Pollard, 49, was found guilty by single justice procedure at Bolton Magistrates Court of driving a Peugeot on Wigan Road, Bolton without proper insurance on September 18 last year. That same day he had also been driving without a licence. Pollard, of Beechcroft Grove, Bolton, was ordered to pay a total of £618.

Damage A man was ordered to pay compensation after damaging a Shell Garage. Christopher Burtak, 36, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court that he had caused around £1,000 worth of damage to the Shell Garage on Tonge Moor Road, Bolton. This was on January 28 this year.

Burtak, of Bradshaw Brow, Bolton, was ordered to pay compensation of £500 and a fine of £80. Road accident A man was fined after failing to stop after a road accident. Muhammad Shabbar, 23, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court that he had failed to stop after driving a Ford Transit that damaged another vehicle.

It left it with a dent in its offside rear wing and scrapped paint at a car park in Bolton on October 9 last year. Shabbar, of Richmond Terrace, Darwen, also admitted that he had been driving without due care and attention that same day. He was fined £150 and ordered to pay costs of £85 with a surcharge of £60 and given five penalty points on his licence.

Driving ban A man was banned from driving after failing to provide a specimen for analysis and without proper insurance. Nathan Cunliffe, 28, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court that he had been driving a Ford Focus without insurance in Kingswood Avenue, Bolton, on December 20 last year. That same day he had failed to provide a specimen for analysis.

Cunliffe, of Firwood Street, Bolton, was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £710. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £284..
