Janata Bhawan, India's first green Secretariat, has set a milestone by cutting its dependence on traditional electricity by nearly half. Electricity bills have dipped by over Rs 80 lakh during the July-November period as compared to the previous year with the shift to renewable energy. 43 crore, which means saving of Rs 80.78 lakh. The adoption of solar energy also resulted in a significant reduction of 8,72,714 units in conventional energy usage.

This initiative shows that Janata Bhawan is seriously committed to sustainability and also to financial prudence, establishing a benchmark for public institutions across the nation. The transition by the Secretariat to renewable energy is a good example of how green practices can both save the environment and be fiscally sound. In integrating solar power into its operations, Janata Bhawan has reaffirmed its commitment to a sustainable future while demonstrating the economic feasibility of green initiatives.
