In a tragic incident that unfolded on Tuesday morning, two individuals lost their lives after being run over by a speeding dumper near Gargo Motors in Tinsukia, Assam. The accident occurred around 8:00 am and left both victims dead on the spot. According to eyewitnesses, the victims were riding a motorcycle when a high-speed dumper struck them from behind, running them over and causing fatal injuries.
The impact was so severe that they succumbed instantly. Police officials arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and have launched an investigation. “Two persons were killed on the spot after they were run over by a speeding vehicle.
The accident happened near Gargo Motors at around 8 am. We have started an investigation into the matter and are collecting CCTV footage,” a police officer stated. While the identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed, authorities revealed that the motorcycle involved in the crash was registered under the name of Ramesh Ojha.
Police are working to establish whether Ojha was among the victims or if someone else was riding the bike at the time of the accident. Preliminary investigations suggest over-speeding as the likely cause of the accident, a concern frequently raised in the region. The police are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the area and are trying to trace the dumper and its driver, who reportedly fled the scene.
