Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika Inaugurates Khel Moharan 2.0 In Silchar

Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika inaugurated the much-awaited Khel Moharan 2.0 at the District Association Sports Field on Wednesday that drew attention as a landmark event in the state's sporting history. The effort is led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, empowering the youth while fostering athletic excellence in the entire region.

Prominent dignitaries who attended the inauguration included Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty, Udharbond MLA Mihir Kanti Shom, and North Sribhumi MLA Kamalakhaya Dey Purkayastha. In his speech, Minister Hazarika spoke about how sports can help build a healthy society by keeping the youth fit, physically and mentally, and saving them from harmful influences such as drug abuse. He has expressed hope that the young sports persons from Silchar may emerge to be at par with Hima Das and Lovlina Borgohain.



Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty described Khel Moharan 2.0 as a revolutionary movement that unifies the people and fosters new talent, while Udharbond MLA Mihir Kanti Shom said life skills like discipline and team play are inculcated into the minds of the persons while playing sports. North Sribhumi MLA Kamalakhaya Dey Purkayastha appreciated the venture for reviving Assam's sporting spirit, where it inspires the youth to achieve name and fame at the national and international levels.

The event continued to further prove Assam's interest in sports and youth empowerment through the inauguration of the Lakhipur LAC Level Competition-Khel Moharan 2.0, at the Labac TE Playground..
