Assam: Bodoland University hosts Women on Wheels Experience North East Session-3

OUR CORRESPONDENT The Bodoland University (BU) hosted the ‘Women on Wheels’ (WOW)-Experience North East Season-3 programme very recently. Altogether 18 members from the Amazing Namaste Foundation and the WOW team from different parts of the country visited Bodoland University for this programme. The programme, which focused on ‘Ek Bharat Shestra Bharat,’ was addressed by the District Commissioner, Masanda Magdalin Pertin (IAS) as special guest and Prof Jatin Sharma, Rector of Bodoland University, chaired the programme.

Members of self help Groups, faculty members and many students of Bodoland University attended the programme. In her address, DC Pertin mentioned the amazing places in and around Kokrajhar and encouraged the WOW members to explore the beauty of Bodoland. She also informed the government’s programme of ‘observing road safety week’ and thanked the WOW members for visiting Kokrajhar.



The co-ordinator of the WOW team Dr Annesha Borah, and two other members, Ms Jaya Goyal and Ms Deepa Naresh Narang, also spoke on this occasion. They explained the objectives and activities of the WOW programme and appreciated the efforts of Bodoland University. All the members of the WOW team shared their feelings and their unique stories.

They also interacted with SHG members, faculty members and students. Dr Yutika Narzary, Assistant Professor of the department of Botany, and Dr Zoe Kiangte, Assistant Professor of the department of English at Bodoland University, also addressed the gathering. Prof Jatin Sharma thanked all the team members for visiting and narrated the positive changes which have been happening in Bodoland.

The welcome address was delivered by Prof A Ibemcha Chanu, Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies, and the vote of thanks was offered by Prof Sanghamitra Choudhury, Dean of Social Science, Bodoland University. Also Read: Also Watch:.
